Ocean cruise ships and industrial aluminum profiles collide

As a mobile maritime space that carries thousands of people sailing across the ocean, ocean-going cruise ships have almost stringent requirements for lightweight, corrosion-resistant and safe materials. Industrial aluminum profiles, with their multi-dimensional performance advantages, have long penetrated into every detail of the cruise ship’s internal space, becoming the core material selection for creating a comfortable, durable and green maritime living environment.

Daily Life Scenes & Interior Applications

From the perspective of daily life scenes, 20 series and 30 series aluminum profiles are widely used in the frame construction of kitchen cabinets and lockers due to their small and flexible characteristics. With food-grade surface treatment, they are not easy to stain oil and are easy to wipe. They perfectly meet the needs of high-frequency cleaning in cruise ship kitchens; 40 series profiles support the main functions of mobile dining cars and simple wardrobes. The weight of the body structure is only one-third of that of similar steel structures. The staff can move it effortlessly, but it can carry enough tableware and daily necessities. The 50 and 60 series profiles further bear the heavy responsibility of the frame of the aluminum profile bed in the room. The high-strength characteristics allow the bed frame to remain stable and silent when the hull sways with the waves, and there will be no problem of abnormal noise or loosening.

Public Areas & Structural Support

In public access areas, 4080 aluminum profiles are the ideal frame material for internal stairs. They are paired with non-slip patterned aluminum plates as the treads. The profile incisions fully cover the end caps, and sealing flat seals are installed in all slots. This not only prevents seawater salt spray from invading the interior of the profile and causes corrosion, but also allows daily cleaning without dead corners, completely eliminating the hidden danger of dust accumulation and dirt accumulation in gaps. The 80 series large-size profiles provide sufficient structural support for the main keel of the ceiling, decorative easels, and large flower stands in the cabin hall. They can easily meet the strength requirements for long-span installations while controlling the overall weight.

Safety Stability & Green Development

All aluminum profile frames are uniformly equipped with special foot connectors at the bottom, which are firmly fixed to the hull deck. Even if the hull is violently shaken by strong winds and waves, various furniture and facilities will not be at risk of shifting and toppling. More importantly, the aluminum profiles used throughout the ship have excellent resistance to salt spray corrosion and are not prone to rust and aging when exposed to high humidity and salt environments at sea for a long time, significantly reducing cruise ship operation and maintenance costs. As an environmentally friendly material with a recyclability rate of over 95%, aluminum profiles are fully in line with the green and low-carbon development direction of ocean-going cruise ships. They continue to reduce the weight and energy consumption of cruise ships throughout their life cycles, making every transoceanic voyage lighter, more economical, and more environmentally friendly.
